That’s a stupid comment to make. Have people not realised that there are also plenty more fisherman? And their bait may be better than yours? Obviously not, coz they never mention that. Saying that there are plenty more fish in the sea would incline one to visualise a scene of one fisherman at a lake with ten million trout in it, when in fact the idea of ten million fishermen around the lake to get to the ten million trout is far more accurate. So, what are the odds that one of those fish is gonna bite your line over theirs? Well, that really depends on how good your bait is and how good an angler you are…and sadly for people like me, I may as well be fishing with a used condom hanging from a brick. And where’s that gonna get me? Fuckin nowhere, that’s where. I guess I’ll just have to do the perseverance thing. If I keep trying, maybe one of them will get snagged on my line along the way, and get caught for however long it is before some tastier bait comes within their reach and some other fisherman hoists them out of the water.
